SUMMARY:The Salvation Army Hosts the Gus Macker 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament
DESCRIPTION:WE NEED YOU to VOLUNTEER:  The Gus Macker National 3 on 3 basketball tournament is the first of its kind. It all began in the McNeal Family driveway in 1974\, in Lowell Michigan. The proceeds from that first event went to the team victors. They are now celebrating 50 years of making an impact for communities and non-profits.  The event was brought back to Flint by Coach Linnell McKinney and we are proud to host the event to fundraise for the L.I.F.E. Center to provide afterschool programming and meals for Flint youth. There are more than 350 kids that have attended the programs at the L.I.F.E. Center and we are just beginning. Its mission is to offer relative programs and activities to help youth\, ages 5 to 17\, develop their gifts and talents\, to prepare them for success in life through character building and a Christ centered programming. The center offers free dinner\, snacks\, tutoring\, literacy\, violin\, judo\, music production and esports\, character building\, gamming\, arts and crafts\, health and fitness\, basketball training and basic skills and drills\, archery\, skilled trades and dinner church.
